Raleigh, Cary and Durham ranked among the 25 fastestf growing large cities in the nation for the 12 monthz that endedJuly 1, 2008, the said in its annuakl population estimates released Wednesday. Cary, which saw its populationm increaseby 6.9 percent, to 129,545, as of July 1, was the nation’s thirdx fastest growing city. Raleigh’s population climbesd by 3.8 percent, to making North Carolina’s capital the eightbh fastest growing city. Durham was ranked 16th with a 3percent increase. Its population rose to 223,284.
