United Way gets $200,000 from foundations - Orlando Business Journal:

This temporary program is beingg administered by the United WayStewardshiop Program, which provides emergency assistance to locall residents at risk for hunger, homelessness and othetr critical problems. United Way is covering the campaign’a administrative expenses so every dollar raised will go to supporrt peoplein need. It is estimated that grant dollarsz will provide help to anadditional 1,350 familiess over the next five Agencies that currently provide familt emergency funds, but have exhausted thei r resources can also access the dollars. People needin g assistance, who are qualified, will be assignes to a case manager who will expeditw financial assistance throughthe fund.
United Way will send payments directly toutility companies, landlords or other entities within 24-hours. Heart of Florida United Way isCentral Florida’s largest provider of funds to the region’s healtnh and human service programs.
